Save Our Snow II

Protecting Park City’s most valuable asset.

In Park City, snow means powder days and pure joy. But snow is so much more to us as a community. Snowpack is essential to our water reserves. And snow is the reason people visit us, driving our economy and providing many Parkites’ paychecks.

So we take climate change seriously. In 2008, the Community Foundation partnered with Park City Municipal and Park City Mountain Resort (Powdr Corporation) to launch Save Our Snow II. We commissioned a scientific study to measure the impact a warming world would have on our snowpack and our economy. We launched ParkCityGreen.org to give people hyper-local access to information on reducing their energy. It included a one-stop-shop for making smart buying decisions and accessing rebates.
