November 4, 1961-June 22, 2018
Eric Haaijer passed away unexpectedly on a beautiful, warm, sunny day in June 2018. Born in Pittsburgh, Eric traveled the world both with his family and as a chemical executive. He was a graduate of Pennsylvania State University and a member of Beta Theta Pi. With his wife Kristen, he fell in love with Park City in 1996, and the family moved here in 2012 with their four children, Hannah, Emily, Caroline, and William.
The Eric Haaijer Memorial Fund was established to honor and give back to all of the causes near and dear to his family and friends, and to perpetuate a life of giving and generosity, both within Park City as well as to causes across the US. Eric wanted to give back to so many things, the family could not decide on any one area, as Eric impacted so much. A few places that we expect to grant to are the National Ability Center, Park City Education Foundation, the Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome Foundation, the American Heart Association, and more. All donations to the fund will over time be used to give grants to nonprofit organizations. As Eric impacted people across the US and the world, we hope to have a lasting impact in many areas to remain true to the spirit of Eric’s life.
