Board Nonprofit Roundtable

28 July, 2020 @ 9:00 am - 10:00 am

Please join us for two newly added virtual Nonprofit Roundtables in July diving into diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). Both Roundtables will be led by Park City Community Foundation Roundtable facilitator Maddy Shear, Community Impact Director Diego Zegarra, and Social Justice Teacher/Instructional Coach at Treasure Mountain Junior High, Meghan Zarnetske.

Join us no matter where you are in your DEI journey. In order to be prepared for these conversations, please set aside 1-2 hours to read/watch the following materials. Remember, in this work, growth only comes from discomfort.

We want to tailor the discussion to your concerns, so please submit questions to Maddy Shear by Friday, July 17, via email maddyshear1@gmail.com.

Speaker Bio: Meghan Zarnetske is the social justice teacher and instructional coach at Treasure Mountain Junior High and has been with Park City School District for 15 years. Meghan loves learning, has two Master’s degrees, and is now a PhD candidate at the University of Utah in the department of Education, Culture, and Society. She is constantly agitated by systems of oppression and loves to teach about dismantling white supremacy and systemic racism.

Tuesday, July 28, 9:00am

Topic: How can boards join the movement for racial justice? Now is the time. Details to follow on speakers and preparation materials.

Please join the meeting via Zoom. We’d love for anyone open to being visible to turn on their webcam and help create an even greater sense of community. Whether you are using computer audio or phone audio, if possible please start by logging into the meeting via Zoom on your computer. We will be using the chat/comment feature for participants to ask questions and indicate they’d like to speak.
