Summit County, Utah (August 3, 2020) – The countdown is on for the tenth annual Live PC Give PC on Friday, November 6. The 24-hour day of giving hosted by Park City Community Foundation aims to engage over 5,500 unique donors to support more than 100 local nonprofits and to highlight the power of giving. The giving day will help stabilize the nonprofit community in this year of COVID-19 and people of all ages and backgrounds are encouraged to get involved. The event is online and will also include modified in-person activities for volunteers and supporters to celebrate.
“The Community Foundation’s mission is to be an advocate and resource for all of the nonprofits in Summit County and we are so excited to be moving forward with Live PC Give PC this year,” said Katie Wright, executive director of Park City Community Foundation. “Ten years of the community coming together with generous donations is a big milestone—since 2011, more than $12.7 million has been raised for Park City’s nonprofits on Live PC Give PC.”
Last year alone, Live PC Give PC boldly raised over $2.4 million from thousands of donations, with the largest portion of the donations coming from local Utah residents supporting their favorite nonprofits. Live PC Give PC is a key fundraiser for nonprofits. Whether it’s through the arts, education, health care, animal welfare, environmental efforts, or supporting cultural and recreational programs, the Park City nonprofit community benefits everyone who lives, works, plays, or stays in the area.
Mike Ruzek, co-chair of the Live PC Give PC task force and a board member of Park City Community Foundation said, “This day belongs to all the nonprofits and our hope is that those organizations that have had to cancel events and galas due to COVID-19 will recoup lost funding to help them stabilize. Fortunately Live PC Give PC is primarily an online event, and we will also be doing creative, in-person activities to have some fun and engage the entire community.”
In 2020, the Live PC Give PC party will come to several Park City and county neighborhoods in the form of a raucous and safe community parade. All supporters are welcome to join the parade or watch as it goes by. Additionally, several nonprofits and supporters are expected to hold small, socially-distanced parties to celebrate Live PC Give PC and to watch the results come in. Guidelines for safety will be provided to all party hosts. The traditional celebration party at High West Distillery & Saloon will not happen in 2020 due to COVID-19, but High West continues to be a sponsor of the giving day.
Live PC Give PC is proudly supported by many generous sponsors listed at livepcgivepc.org. Vail Resorts EpicPromise and Park City Mountain are the presenting sponsors, and sponsorship opportunities are available through Oct. 1.
