Anna Frachou has been involved with Park City Community Foundation for five years, and she is starting her second year on its Women’s Giving Fund Steering Committee in 2024.
As a board member at Park City Community Foundation, Frachou had assisted at Women’s Giving Fund events for years before finally being able to make the financial commitment to join. One of the most exciting things she has seen as the Women’s Giving Fund has grown is the increased opportunity for women of all financial backgrounds to participate.
“The connections I’ve made with other like-minded women are inspiring, admirable, and encouraging,” Frachou says. “I love the networking opportunity and the power in the room when we get together is so impressive. There is so much we can do as a community, and it’s a great opportunity for women from all over the community to come together and gather resources to support one of our most vulnerable populations – women and children.”
Now, as a new mother, the mission of the Women’s Giving Fund – to uplift women and children in the community – resonates even more for her.
“When I rise, I want my community to rise, and when I talk about community, it’s Latinas, it’s women, it’s children,” she says. “When I first started in the Women’s Giving Fund initiative, we weren’t really ‘there’ regarding inclusion. But we’ve taken steps to truly embrace all women, and that’s been a positive change that I’ve witnessed. As we continue down that path, we’ll see people of different backgrounds, experiences, and ways of life coming together, and it will be even more impactful and enriching once we have accomplished that.”
