Park City Community Foundation Has Brought $10.84 Million into Park City and Summit County in the Past Year

Support for the nonprofit sector brings arts and culture, education, healthcare, recreation, and land and climate protection to the community.

Park City, Utah (September 19, 2024) – Park City Community Foundation today announced that its cumulative impact to Park City and Summit County over the past year totals $10.84 million. The announcement was made at the Community Foundation’s annual Grants Celebration, sponsored by Deer Valley Resort at Snow Park Lodge. Over 200 nonprofit representatives and Community Foundation donors were in attendance.

Last year, the Community Foundation gave out $3.69 million in grants to local nonprofits, facilitated $4.8 million in donations through the annual Live PC Give PC giving day, and contributed $2.2 million in education and program delivery toward specific issue areas that it believes are essential to prosperity in the area, such as climate change, early childcare, equitable access to sports and activities, affordable housing, and mental wellness.

The most recent round of grants was for its Community Fund and totaled $455,000 that was given to support 55 nonprofits that have created positive change. Of that amount, $100,000 was contributed by Deer Valley Resort. These annual grants go out to Park City and Summit County nonprofits working on a wide array of issues. The Community Fund consists of hundreds of large and small donations pooled together to serve the community’s most pressing needs and fortify the nonprofits that provide important services.

“Local nonprofits are the lifeblood of our community,” said Joel Zarrow, President and CEO of Park City Community Foundation. “We strengthen them by providing grants, educational opportunities, and attracting thousands of donors. This past year, we have provided grants ranging from $2,500 to $100,000 to nonprofits addressing critical community needs.”

The grants provide mental health support, youth arts and sports programs, high quality affordable childcare, open space, affordable housing, legal assistance, and much more.

Donors and sponsors to Park City Community Foundation make the grants possible. They include people who make gifts of any size, contributors to the Community Foundation on the annual day of giving, Live PC Give PC, and Community Pass Club members and partners.
