Katie is a Certified Public Accountant with over 15 years of experience in public and private accounting, including extensive work in the nonprofit sector, holding top finance and operation roles, as well as board and committee positions. Katie’s passion for nonprofit work began when she started in public accounting and experienced firsthand the challenges nonprofit clients face. She continued to volunteer in direct service, while spending time as a Controller in the for-profit technology sector. She then returned full-time to nonprofit work as the Finance Director and subsequent VP of Operations for the National Ability Center in Park City. Before joining the Park City Community Foundation, she served as a CPA/Nonprofit Financial Services Consultant for local and national nonprofits.
When her daughter was born with a rare disability in 2015, Katie became a passionate advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion through her work and personal life. She thrives on empowering nonprofits and communities to see that it’s possible to be change leaders while remaining fiscally responsible – always maintaining focus on fiduciary accountability to donors, the people, and the community needs we serve.
