For the first time in seven years, our children have experienced the joy of attending a summer camp, thanks to the incredible support from Youth United and PC Recreation. This milestone marks a profound shift in our family’s life, and we feel a deep sense of gratitude toward everyone who made the Summer Day Camp possible.
Imagine the relief of not having to scramble daily to find a sitter, a struggle that often left us waiting anxiously until 11 p.m. for confirmation. This summer, that stress vanished. For us, the parents, this meant not losing work hours due to a lack of support. It meant peace of mind and a chance to breathe easier, knowing our children were in safe hands.
Our kids returned home each day happily exhausted, their minds and bodies enriched from a full day of activities. No screens for a total of eight hours—it was more than possible; it became their new normal. They experienced mental, physical, and emotional growth in ways we could only dream of before.
Beyond the personal relief, the camp offered something invaluable: the ability to provide for our children without having to choose between basic needs and their education or care. The scholarship ensured a better standard of life for our entire family.
Our children learned to navigate social situations, made new friends, and felt a sense of equality in a world often marred by inequality and bullying. At Park City Summer Day Camp, they were treated with the same kindness and respect as every other child. This environment fostered a sense of belonging and security that is priceless.
Every day, as we drop off and pick up our children, we are overwhelmed with gratitude. We know they are safe, cared for, and thriving. This program has not only supported our kids but has also seen and supported our entire family.
