Board Member Roundtable

28 February, 2019 @ 8:30 am - 10:00 am

Are you on a nonprofit board? Please join us for our quarterly Board Member Roundtable. Whether you are a new board member or have been serving for years, we hope you will be a part of this discussion. Share best practices and connect with your peers. The main session runs from 8:30-9:30, and participants are welcome to stay another half hour for social time afterwards. Roundtables are free to attend. The meeting will be held in classroom 2/3 at the Blair Education Center in the Park City Hospital. Light breakfast items and coffee are always on hand. More details can be found at parkcitycf.org/nonprofit-roundtables. Please RSVP to Maddy Shear at maddyshear1@gmail.com.

Topic: My Board Members are Busy People – Definitely a true statement, but it’s uncomfortable when it’s the answer an ED gives in response to, “How’s your board doing, how effective are your meetings and your committees?” We will dig into this topic and accept that the nonprofit model is funky. We’ll dig into what is a high functioning board? What are the roles and responsibilities of individual board members and the board as a whole? Were you recruited and on-boarded in a manner that is helping you succeed? Trust is so important in this model, we’ll talk about what that is and is not. Be prepared to share and discuss what enables you to be an engaged board member and what challenges you face. There will be a lot of collective wisdom to dive into.

Location: Classroom 2/3, Blair Education Center, Park City Hospital
