Open Nonprofit Roundtable (joint with EDs)

Please join us for two newly added virtual Nonprofit Roundtables in July diving into diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). Both Roundtables will be led by Park City Community Foundation Roundtable facilitator Maddy Shear, Community Impact Director Diego Zegarra, and Social Justice Teacher/Instructional Coach at Treasure Mountain Junior High, Meghan Zarnetske.
Join us no matter where you are in your DEI journey. In order to be prepared for these conversations, please set aside 1-2 hours to read/watch the following materials. Remember, in this work, growth only comes from discomfort.
- Start with two very short, powerful videos: Video 1; Video 2.
- Read this resource from the Smithsonian for a history of racism in the United States.
- Be sure to visit these specific sections of the Smithsonian resource: being antiracist, whiteness, bias.

Speaker Bio: Meghan Zarnetske is the social justice teacher and instructional coach at Treasure Mountain Junior High and has been with Park City School District for 15 years. Meghan loves learning, has two Master’s degrees, and is now a PhD candidate at the University of Utah in the department of Education, Culture, and Society. She is constantly agitated by systems of oppression and loves to teach about dismantling white supremacy and systemic racism.
