Women’s Giving Fund Book Discussion 2026
You’re invited to take part in our Women’s Giving Fund annual book discussion featuring Sin Padres, Ni Papeles: Unaccompanied Migrant Youth Coming of Age in the United States by Stephanie Canizales. This powerful book explores the lives of undocumented youth who migrate to the U.S. alone, focusing on their experiences in Los Angeles. Based on extensive interviews, it details their struggles with precarious legal status, exploitative labor, and the immense pressure to support families back home, while also highlighting their resilience, agency, and redefined sense of success.
This event will begin with a reception in the Community Room at 6:30 PM, where guests can enjoy movie-theater snacks, participate in a hands-on activity, and meet Stephanie Canizales.
At 7 PM, the program will move to the Jim Santy Auditorium for an author presentation, followed by a community conversation with a guest speaker from the Wasatch Immigration Project and an audience Q&A.
Afterward, join us back in the Community Room for a book signing with Dolly’s Bookstore beginning at 8 PM.
Bring a friend! This event is open to all. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear from an important voice and connect more deeply with the stories shaping our communities.
