The Maternal Mental Health Leadership Alliance recently distributed their fact sheet about maternal mental health and suicide and it is sobering. Although this fact sheet estimates that one in five women in the United States are affected by mental health conditions as a complication of pregnancy and childbirth, the statistics in Utah are even worse. In Utah, one in three women experience depression or anxiety after giving birth.
