Park City, Utah (November 12, 2020) — Every year, Utah Philanthropy Day celebrates those in our community who embody the spirit of philanthropy and volunteerism. The prestigious Foundation Spirit of Giving Award recognizes a foundation that has demonstrated an outstanding commitment of philanthropy and community service by providing direct financial support as well as motivating others to take a leadership role in philanthropic activities.
“It’s the Community Foundation’s leadership of the Giving Day, Live PC Give PC, along with efforts to grow community initiatives, and to inspire a more inclusive community that resulted in them winning the 2020 Utah Philanthropy Day Foundation Spirit of Giving Award,” says Emily Fisher, Executive Director of Youth Sports Alliance.
Live PC Give PC, Utah’s largest giving day organized by Park City Community Foundation, raised $3.4 million on November 6, 2020 and rallied thousands of community members, nonprofits, volunteers, donors, and sponsors to participate.
“After an incredibly rewarding but difficult year, it is special to be recognized in this way,” says Katie Wright, Executive Director of Park City Community Foundation. “Thank you to Utah Philanthropy Day and our generous community partners for nominating and recommending the Community Foundation for this award. I also want to extend my deep thank you to our staff, who have worked tirelessly to ensure that our community is resilient during the pandemic, and I want to thank our leadership for their strategic counsel and time.”
Since 1999, the Association of Fundraising Professionals, the Utah Nonprofits Association, and UServeUtah have celebrated Utah’s outstanding philanthropists and volunteers at the annual Utah Philanthropy Day. Because of the pandemic, in place of an in-person luncheon in 2020, Utah Philanthropy Day will air a special program this Monday, November 16 at 6:00 pm on ABC4. Tune in to channel ABC4 for the broadcast.
