Park City Community Foundation, Summit County, and Park City Municipal Corporation are seeking a qualified consultant to study the feasibility of an organic materials management facility in Summit County. Since January 2024, our partnership has worked to divert food waste from the Three Mile Canyon landfill, supporting the community’s goal of extending the landfill’s life to 2063 or beyond and the Community Foundation’s goal of zero food waste to landfill by 2030.

This study will explore whether a local facility could help divert more food waste, yard waste, and other organic materials in a way that is economically sustainable for our community. The study will evaluate processing technologies, site requirements, and the economics of developing and operating a facility.

Proposals are due by end of day Friday, October 23, 2026, and questions about the RFP should be submitted by October 12, 2026. Consultant selection is expected on November 13, 2026. For questions, please contact Victoria Schlaepfer at victoria@parkcitycf.org.
