We Are All In
As a tight-knit community deeply rooted in our natural surroundings, we believe in caring for the health and wellbeing of one another and the place we call home.
Park City and Summit County residents, local authorities, businesses, and nonprofits are dedicated to Zero Food Waste. It's happening through collaboration, investment, innovation, and leadership from all sectors.
Together, we are eliminating and diverting all food waste from the Summit County landfill by 2030.
Why Food Waste?
When food waste ends up in a landfill, it releases harmful gases, pollutes our water, and costs our community money. It's a simple action with high impact.
Releases Methane
Food waste is a major contributor to the climate crisis as it releases methane, a greenhouse gas much more potent than carbon dioxide.
Takes Up Valuable Space
Food waste takes up nearly 50% of the air space at the Summit County landfill.

Make Your Impact Today
Our Climate Fund engages organizations and individuals in implementing local, high-impact climate solutions that bring about economic and health benefits, while inspiring broader change. Our current focus is on reaching Zero Food Waste by 2030 in Summit County.
