2019 Kindergarten Entry And Exit Profile Shows Opportunities To Improve School Readiness

Increasing school readiness is one of the primary goals of the Early Childhood Alliance. Recent data provided by the Utah State Board of Education show that there are opportunities to improve literacy and numeracy proficiency in the Park City, South Summit, North Summit, and Wasatch school districts, particularly for minority, low-income, and English language learner students.

The graphics above display the percent of students proficient in Literacy and Numeracy on the School Year 2019 KEEP Exit disaggregated by student groups.  Students at Park City, North Summit, South Summit, and Wasatch School District were examined.  USBE does not release an n-size group less than 10 so North & South Summit District were combined to form a large enough group of Low Income and Minority Students.  Wasatch District students were added to the English Language Learner group to provide a large enough n-size for this demographic.
