Applications are Open for Leader Lab’s Second Cohort

Education & Trainings, Our Impact, Supporting Nonprofits

Building on the success of its first year, Park City Community Foundation is launching the second cohort of Leader Lab to continue addressing the critical need for diverse representation on nonprofit boards, committees, and other leadership bodies throughout Park City and Summit County.

This six-month program is designed specifically for emerging leaders from underrepresented communities, including BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and other groups, giving them the skills, confidence, and networks to step into meaningful decision-making roles.

“We have seen what’s possible when we expand the voices at the table, and participants from our first cohort are already serving on local community boards and making their mark,” said Diego Zegarra, Vice President of Impact at Park City Community Foundation.

Through targeted training, mentorship, and networking opportunities, Leader Lab is building sustainable pathways for community members who have historically been left out of decision-making spaces. And the impact goes beyond any one participant. When Leader Lab graduates go on to serve on boards, join committees, and advocate for their communities, the ripple effects strengthen Park City and Summit County. It’s all part of Park City Community Foundation’s broader work to build community belonging and advance a thriving workforce and sustainable future in Park City and Summit County.

“Leader Lab didn’t just teach me about nonprofit and community boards. It made me feel like a leader,” said Polly Choque-Mendoza, a 2025/2026 Leader Lab participant. “I’ve already put my learning into action by applying for and being accepted to a Summit County advisory board focused on distributing grants to arts and culture organizations. I now truly have a seat at the table and the tools to serve. I couldn’t be more excited.”
