Park City Community Foundation’s Community Belonging Cohort is launching into its sixth year. The name has changed but the content remains the same. The goal of the cohort is to build capacity among individuals and organizations to champion and lead inclusion and belonging efforts at an organizational level.What will be the focus of the learning:
- Establish a common language and framework for critical analysis, with an explicit focus on race
- Develop agreements and protocols that foster inclusion and create safe spaces for productive conversations about diversity and belonging
- Explore the historical foundations of structural racism and how they influence current practices and outcomes
- Examine individual and institutional biases that shape systems disproportionately affecting underrepresented individuals and communities Identify and thoughtfully challenge aspects of dominant culture within operational and programmatic practices
- Discuss strategies for outreach and engagement within the Park City community that can support belonging-focused progress
- Role-play conversations about race
- Learn from local examples, one another, and emerging best practices
- 2.5-Day Cohort Launch → April 20-22 9am– 4pm (on Monday & Tuesday) 9am-1pm (on Wednesday)
- Five Follow-Up Sessions → May 19, June 16, July 14, August 18, September 22 9am-12pm
