With Mass Community Participation, Park City’s Annual Day of Giving Typically Raises Millions for Local Nonprofits; This is a Critical Year for Donations in Light of Adverse Economic Impact of Inflation

Summit County, Utah (October 20, 2022) – The 12^th annual Live PC Give PC takes place this year on Friday, November 4. This day of giving in Park City and Summit County is a critical fundraiser for local nonprofit fundraisers, as demonstrated during the pandemic and now with the challenges presented by inflation. Hosted by Park City Community Foundation, the 24-hour event is an inclusive one with the goal of bringing in 6,500 donors to support more than 120 nonprofits. People of all ages and backgrounds are encouraged to participate with a minimum donation of five dollars in this online event which also includes several in-person activities for volunteers and supporters to celebrate and display their community spirit.Since 2011, more than $21 million has been raised for Park City and Summit County nonprofits on Live PC Give PC. Each year the Community Foundation and local nonprofits aim for more contributions and involvement than in past years.Last year alone, Live PC Give PC raised more than $4.4 million from 6,200-plus donors, with the largest portion of the donations coming from local Summit County residents supporting their favorite nonprofits, including those focused on arts, education, health care, animal welfare, trails, environmental efforts, cultural and recreational programs, and social services. Many donors were also part-time residents and visitors who care deeply about Park City. Nonprofits with the most unique donors will receive significant cash prizes sponsored by Park City Mountain, and by giving, donors also help nonprofits meet matching grant challenges where individual donations are doubled.“Our dynamic nonprofit community benefits everyone who lives, works, plays, or stays in the area. As a result, Live PC Give PC is designed to encourage mass participation, with a minimum donation of just five dollars. We have so many newcomers and would love to see more first-time contributors,” says Joel Zarrow, President & CEO of Park City Community Foundation. “With inflation at its highest rate in 40 years, we are seeing substantial impact on lower-income residents. Donations are needed just as much now as during the pandemic to ensure the strength of our community. Live PC Give PC provides an opportunity for individuals to reflect on how nonprofits enhance their lives and those of their neighbors.”Park City area residents are known for their generosity. Per capita, the community ranks among highest in the nation when it comes to philanthropic support.Park City Community Foundation has scheduled community celebrations and activities in honor of Live PC Give PC, including “Under the Stars,” a party at Town Lift Plaza.Early giving has already opened at livepcgivepc.org. ALL DAY: 12:01am – 11:59pm: DONATE!

Choose from over 100 nonprofit fundraisers at livepcgivepc.org and donate whatever you can to your favorite causes ($5.00 minimum). New donors will have each of their early-day donations boosted by $10.00. The goal is 6,500 unique donors and nonprofits with the most unique donations will receive big cash prizes.

7:00am – 6:00pm: On the Street

As always, nonprofits and volunteers will be taking to the street to promote Live PC Give PC and their causes. Honk and wave as you drive by them to show your support!

7:00am – 6:00pm: Donation Stations

Many nonprofit partners and volunteers will be at businesses around town promoting Live PC Give PC and their causes, and facilitating donations. Say hi and donate to your favorite cause.

4:00pm – 9:00pm: Party Under the Stars!

Live PC Give PC participants – nonprofits, volunteers, donors, and members of the community – are invited to celebrate our nonprofit community at this party sponsored by High West Distillery.Bundle up and join us on the Town Lift Plaza as we come together as a community to support the work of our nonprofits. Free and open to the public, under 21 admitted with parent or guardian. Event will take place rain or shine!Please take public transportation, walk, bike, or plan to park in paid city parking lots.
