Live PC Give PC 2020 Has Many Ways to Participate

Park City’s Annual Giving Day Expects to Bring in Millions for Local Nonprofit Organizations on Its 10th Anniversary

Summit County, Utah (October 29, 2020) – Live PC Give PC takes place next Friday, November 6 and it will be the 10th anniversary of this giving day for Park City and Summit County. The 24-hour event hosted by Park City Community Foundation aims to engage over 5,500 unique donors to support more than 130 nonprofit fundraisers. The giving day will help stabilize the nonprofit community in this year of COVID-19 and people of all ages and backgrounds are expected to participate. The event is online and also includes several socially-distanced, in-person activities for volunteers and supporters to celebrate.

“Ten years of the community coming together with generous donations is a big milestone—since 2011, more than $12.7 million has been raised for Park City’s nonprofits on Live PC Give PC,” said Katie Wright, executive director of Park City Community Foundation. “In 2020 the giving day is proving to be a bright spot during a challenging time, and we are hoping for more contributions and involvement than in past years.”

Last year alone, Live PC Give PC raised over $2.4 million from thousands of donations, with the largest portion of the donations coming from local Utah residents supporting their favorite nonprofits, including those focused on arts, education, health care, animal welfare, environmental efforts, cultural and recreational programs, and social services.

“Our nonprofit community benefits everyone who lives, works, plays, or stays in the area. We’re very excited to see our community come together to help during COVID-19 this year,” said Mike Ruzek, co-chair of the Live PC Give PC task force and a board member of Park City Community Foundation. “The best way to participate this year is to give what you can with a donation of any size on November 6th. Nonprofits with the most unique donors will receive big cash prizes, and by giving, donors also help nonprofits meet matching grant challenges–your gift can be doubled.”

Park City Community Foundation has scheduled socially-distanced activities to allow the community to safely celebrate Live PC Give PC, including a Community Parade and a three-hour Livestream. COVID-19 safety guidelines are the top priority for in-person celebrations for Live PC Give PC and the Community Foundation is following all current regulations and asking participants to do the same. COVID-19 safety guidelines can be found at livepcgivepc.org.
