Sports, Rec, and Community: Inside Youth United’s Fall Registration Event
On August 30, Park City Community Foundation’s Youth United program hosted its annual Fall Registration event at Woodward, bringing together more than 200 local community members for an afternoon of connection and fun. Youth United’s goal is to foster a sense of belonging among local youth and strengthen connections across the community, giving young people endless opportunities to play, learn, grow, and belong. Families had the chance to sign up for sports and recreation programs and get kids involved in extracurricular activities throughout the community, all while enjoying yummy food, face painting, and Woodward’s own foam pit and trampolines.
Throughout the event, families connected with 23 partner organizations on hand who shared the programs and services available to support them throughout the year, from youth sports leagues to after school programs and beyond.
Junior Vieyra, Youth Access Manager at Park City Community Foundation, said it best: “Two hundred community members walked out of Woodward on Sunday registered and ready for the season. That doesn’t happen without volunteers and our amazing partners who give up their weekend to make it happen.”
Days like this one show just how much this community shows up for its kids.
